Child Abuse? Mark 9:42

Beacon Apologetics

Mark 9: 42 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.

At first notice it would appear that Mark was writing about a abusive situation with a child. Not so. Jesus was referring to ordinary believers that were so very new to the Christian faith but loving and obedient to Christ! Christians, possibly legalistic and inadvertently were derailing their faith were (and are) heavily subject to judgement! All of us “apologists” and “teachers” need to be aware of this!

God Bless
